Skills
I am a rigorous, versatile, software engineer with a broad base of experience. I am equally adept at thinking, writing, and functioning at strategic, tactical, and operational levels. I am equally comfortable:
- Talking with executives about goals and direction
- Discussing pros and cons of decisions with team members
- Helping junior team members on their path to mastery
- Discerning a business need then designing and implementing a solution
- Assessing and realigning a business process or procedure
- Troubleshooting an issue with a production server or serviceAssuming it is some flavor of Linux. My skills and experience with a Microsoft stack are limited.
I have extensive technical skills and have been actively growing my expertise in higher-order concerns like product ownership, executive management, and organizational performance. My technical foundation is Ruby and Rails, with full-stack depth across JavaScript, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and the everyday tooling of shipping softwareżGit, CI/CD, Linux, and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
I use AI deliberately in my workżsee how and whereżand stay skeptical of hype in either direction.
